Happy Summer Solstice! How are you celebrating summer today, this weekend, or in the months ahead?
I kicked off summer by heading to a best friend's wedding in Pennsylvania and then to Lake George with my husband and his friends. What a treat this time away was; the skies were blue or there were passing showers, both felt like summer and were so welcomed!
I am so grateful for the time I had this past week to connect with friends, unplug from electronics, spend the days (and some nights) outside with no set plans, and move at a slower pace overall. I felt like I was a kid again on summer vacation from school - camping, playing catch, laying around reading, swimming, laughing until my cheeks hurt, drinking Capri Sun, dancing, sitting mesmerized around a fire. And I couldn’t help but smile, feeling so excited for summer to start; even if every day won’t be spent with this much freedom, I will keep those feelings from childhood and this past week close by.
What are some of your childhood summer vacation memories? And what signifies summer has arrived for you?
