DailyUV has been our focus for over 5 years. The site serves thousands of readers and contributors like you daily, helping you discover and share local information. We’d like to thank you for helping us learn and grow with your continued visits to the site and ongoing feedback.
DailyUV has proven to us that local communities are hungry for a reliable destination to share authentically local content. This is why we feel ready to offer this resource to other towns and regions. We want to provide others the same opportunity to easily share information about the places that are important to them.
That’s why we’re changing our name to HereCast.
What does this mean for me?
First of all, you’ll still be getting the same distinctly local experience. Just because we are taking the Upper Valley out of our name doesn’t mean you won’t be able to keep up with all the wonderful things going on in the Upper Valley region.
Live in Hartford? You’ll still get a Hartford-centric view of what is going on around you, and you’ll continue to have the ability to reach others in the area with your own posts, events and market items.
But for those of you living on the edges of the debated Upper Valley boundary, the idea of what’s “local” can be quite different. By expanding, we can remove that outer limit and provide more options. HereCast will let you experience local with you as the center, letting you define what locations matter most to you.
There won’t be major changes to how the site works for you. Your DailyUV account will continue to work with HereCast. You can still subscribe to the pages you find most interesting, receive daily and weekly digests, and find timely local information with each visit. Posts are still contributed by locals, and those who choose to do so will continue to earn money for their contributions.
Where will HereCast go next?
By switching to HereCast, we are opening the opportunity for others to have a DailyUV-like experience outside of the Upper Valley. People living in St Albans, VT, can keep up with what’s going on around them and contribute updates for their region. People who care about Portsmouth, NH, can post about what's going on in Portsmouth.
Our goal this year is to reach most of Vermont and New Hampshire, but we are also interested to see how other communities around the US will use this resource. HereCast will be ready for any town as long as there are people who care about sharing local information and others who want to read it!
When will this happen?
We’re hard at work getting all the pieces in place over the next month, and we’re looking to make the transition official by mid-July. We will keep you updated as this adventure continues and hope to get your feedback along the way!
What about Subtext Media?
Some of you may know that our company name is actually Subtext Media. We’re changing that too! From now on, we’ll be the HereCast team, focused on making HereCast the best option for local content.
What if I have questions or concerns?
Please feel free to reach out to us anytime at email@example.com! We love feedback and want to make sure everybody is as excited about these upcoming changes as we are.
