What's Coming, What's Going
If you act fast, you can still catch an amazing exhibit by Cilla Sheehan, at the Pease Library in Plymouth, NH. She is an assemblage artist, which means that she uses things she finds, scavenges, and picks up. They're called found objects: nails, eyeglasses, keys, wooden toys, dolls' heads, you name it. And she puts them together in a fascinating and thought-provoking way. The show runs through March 30th.
And opening March 29th is another show at the Twigg Gallery in Boscawen. It might be a little far to go, but it's worth it. The exhibit is called Busting Out. The instructions to the artists were to take a bra, corset, or bustier, and decorate it in a way that reflects women's empowerment. It's sponsored by Women's Caucus for Art, NH.
