Movie: The Devil We Know, Howe Library, Mayer Room, Thursday, March 14, 6-8 pm, snacks!
Environmental Scientist and former NH Congresswoman, Mindi Messmer is the most persistent person I've ever encountered. She's on a mission to inform NH residents about "new research that indicates that all Americans are affected by exposure to non-stick chemicals in our food, water, and consumer goods." She is hosting a screening and post-panel discussion of the film The Devil We Know, “which is the story of how one synthetic chemical, used to make Teflon products, contaminated a West Virginia community.” With little oversight on the chemical industry in this country, she invites local residents to learn more about this problem and how to work to protect yourselves and your families. Denis R. Rydjeski, from the Sierra Club’s Upper Valley Group, says the group has “been looking to screen this timely film” at a local venue, and they are excited to promote and attend.
