Session One: Brain Health - Saturday, 4/7
You'll learn practices that have been scientifically proven to boost memory, reduce stress, enhance cerebral blood flow, increase brain size, reduce depression, improve brain chemistry and sleep quality. There will be a lecture and handout explaining the science behind this. We'll do an easy yet invigorating yoga and breath practice together, followed by a Sound Healing gong bath and a transformative meditation.
Session Two: Staying Limber - Saturday, 4/14
You'll learn simple spinal exercises you can do daily to feel younger and more dynamic. The yogis believe that flexibility of the spine is the true measure of age, so make yourself younger with this fun yoga practice that anyone can do. No pretzel poses! You will experience a targeted approach for enhancing spinal-fluid flow, increasing range of motion, and easing muscle tension, followed by a Sound Healing gong bath.
Session Three: Strengthening Immunity - Saturday, 4/21
This week, we focus on yogic practices that maintain wellness of body and mind through stimulating your glands, particularly the thymus gland, to fight infection and run your body at its peak. Along with these dynamic exercises for disease resistance, you'll learn quick and easy breath techniques to reverse the onset of illness. We'll close with a a Sound Healing gong bath.
Session Four: Stress Relief - Saturday, 4/28
For this meditative session, you will learn how stress manifests in the body as well as stress-relieving techniques that you can use anytime to calm yourself. We will do a yogic relaxation series designed to remove negativity and tension, which also develops core strength, aids digestion, detoxifies the body, and even instills youthfulness, followed by a Sound Healing gong bath. You will leave this workshop feeling fresh and renewed!
Session Five: Restful Sleep - Saturday, 5/5
Put your sleep troubles to rest! You will learn simple breath techniques to help you fall asleep, bedtime meditations, and a full yoga sequence to promote restful, rejuvenating sleep. By learning to control the rhythm of your breath, you will strengthen your nervous system, regenerate the nerves, remain calmer during the day, and leave your sleep troubles behind. Session includes a Sound Healing gong bath.
Session Six: Better Digestion - Saturday, 5/12
Learn simple individual moves you can do to help your body digest food as well as a yoga sequence that improves digestive function by encouraging elimination, readjusting the acid-alkaline balance in the stomach, cleaning the gallbladder, and flushing toxins from the circulatory system. Session includes a Sound Healing gong bath. By improving digestion, you will gain energy and even give your skin a more youthful appearance!
Learn safe, fun exercises and breath techniques to get your heart rate up, stimulate your metabolism, and flood your body with happy hormones. This session will also include relaxing poses that apply gentle pressure on your organs, breaking down fat tissue while strengthening healthy tissue. Relax completely with a Sound Healing gong bath at the class's end.
