** This event was rescheduled due to icy roads last weekend, so you haven't missed it! **
Free and open to the public - all are welcome at this Imbolc service of the Vision of Light Church of Spiritualism & Healing:
We're starting off the new year and getting through the deep winter together with celebration and self-care, honoring and exploring our unique attributes and talents, passions and callings. We all carry gifts within us that we need to recognize and nurture in order to enjoy our greatest well-being and service to the world, especially in a moment when all our gifts of love, kindness, creativity and healing and more are needed so powerfully.
We'll welcome Brigid, the goddess, saint, and woman of legend, who is celebrated at Imbolc in Celtic traditions but is also a figure for all ages and all people. As an archetypal midwife, she can help us to gently bring forth what has been growing inside us, for a little while or a long time, whatever is ready to be received lovingly and welcomed into our world.
We'll even take a peek at Emerging, the next program of the Seasonal Celebrations Cycle, in which we'll welcome Spring, celebrating everything from Ostara, Equinox and Easter to Mud Season and Sugaring! Our service will also include the usual weekly guided meditation, hands-on healing and message circle, where everyone is welcome to participate as desired. As Brigid is also traditionally a supporter of artisan crafters (as well as healing and bardic arts), after the service and potluck we'll hold a craft circle and fiber arts demonstrations, including1. hand spinning wool into yarn with drop spindle and/or spinning wheel2. finger weaving or flat braiding to make a bookmark, bracelet or belt3. Community Crazy Quilt everyone can work on, even if you need help learning to sew or embroider4. a craft circle where you bring your own projects in progress and your fiber arts questions.Led by Dawn Hancy, founder of Essential Arts Reiki, Seasonal Celebrations Cycle and the Vermont Boot Bracelet Company
